Verde… que te queremos verde

Abstract

Esta investigación estudia la ciudad de Mérida y su espacio municipal con el objeto de conocer datos fieles de su extensión vegetal y de su oferta de áreas verdes desarrolladas, prestas al servicio de la comunidad; buscando también poder formular políticas que permitan la ampliación, diversificación y enriquecimiento de sus aportes en vegetación, para el disfrute de la sociedad local y general. La investigación de campo y el análisis de fuentes primarias y secundarias de información, han sido la base documental de este artículo; permitiendo reconocer el gran aporte de la naturaleza local ante el cambio climático pero, también los requerimientos verdes a escala urbana, la formulación y consolidación de la infraestructura verde urbana y la necesidad de concientizarse para lograr un mayor florecimiento verde y una mejor protección de las bondades que disfruta la ciudad de Mérida y su gente, hoy día

This research studies the city of Mérida and its local area, in order to know its vegetable extension and its offer of green developed areas, accessible to its community, through its public spaces. All this with the object of formulating desired politics in order to extend, diversify and enrich their contribution to the local and global society. The analysis of field studies plus primary and secondary sources of information has been the basis of this dissertation to recognize the big contribution of nature on the climate change. It has also been able to identify the need of green areas at urban scale, the formulation and consolidation of the urban green infrastructure, and the need to be aware of its value and a better management and enjoyment of the urban vegetation, today.
