Miriam Pérez Méndez y la educación ambiental a través del reusó y reciclaje de desechos sólidos en Mérida, Venezuela

Abstract

El objetivo del presente trabajo fue sistematizar los aportes de Miriam Pérez Méndez a la Educación Ambiental en Venezuela, a través del reuso y reciclaje de desechos sólidos. La investigación es cualitativa haciendo uso del método de historias de vida. Los resultados demuestran que se inició con el reuso y reciclaje de desechos en la población de Lagunillas en Mérida trabajando veintiún (21) años con CIULAMIDE (1992-2013) y dieciséis (16) años con la cátedra de Educación Ambiental en la Facultad de Humanidades y Educación, Universidad de Los Andes (ULA), Mérida; Mirian Pérez M. facilitó talleres; realizó exposiciones, generó material didáctico y difundió sus experiencias (REDEARTEA; 2007 y CIEDUART; 2012). Como resultado Miriam Pérez Méndez ha contribuido con la Educación Ambiental mediante el reuso y reciclaje de desechos sólidos en Venezuela.

The objective of the present work was to systematize the contributions of Miriam Pérez Méndez to Environmental Education in Venezuela, through the reuse and recycling of solid waste. The research is qualitative using the method of life stories. The results show that the reuse and recycling of waste began in the town of Lagunillas in Mérida, working for twenty-one (21) years with CIULAMIDE (1992-2013) and sixteen (16) years with the chair of Environmental Education at the Faculty of Humanities and Education, University of Los Andes (ULA), Mérida; Mirian Pérez M. facilitated workshops; she held exhibitions, generated educational material and disseminated her experiences (REDEARTEA; 2007 and CIEDUART; 2012). As a result, Miriam Pérez Méndez has contributed to Environmental Education through the reuse and recycling of solid waste in Venezuela.
