Competencias docentes. Realidad y desafíos en el contexto latinoamericano

Abstract

En pleno siglo XXI están sucediendo grandes acontecimientos sociales, políticos, económicos, científicos, sanitarios y muy en especial educativos que demandan de una actuación del docente que propenda a la pertinencia, calidad y trascendencia del proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje. Lo expuesto constituye la motivación del presente trabajo cuyo objetivo es reflexionar sobre la realidad y desafíos que tienen los docentes para cumplir su labor, además, plantear una serie de recomendaciones que contribuyan al desarrollo de sus competencias y de esta manera optimizar su actividad pedagógica. Se desarrolló con un abordaje teórico sobre el concepto de competencias, competencias docentes y las realidades y desafíos actuales que presentan estos profesionales en Latinoamérica se plantearon una serie de recomendación y se concluyó con las reflexiones finales acerca de la importancia de la optimización del desempeño docente y de la transformación de su rol para su bienestar personal y de la comunidad educativa.

In the 21st century, great social, political, economic, scientific, health and very especially educational events are taking place that demand a teacher's performance that tends to the relevance, quality and transcendence of the teaching-learning process. The above constitutes the motivation of the present work whose objective is to reflect on the reality and challenges that teachers have to fulfill their work, in addition, to propose a series of recommendations that contribute to the development of their competences and in this way optimize their pedagogical activity. It was developed with a theoretical approach on the concept of competencies, teaching competencies and the current realities and challenges presented by these professionals in Latin America, a series of recommendations were proposed and it was concluded with the final reflections on the importance of optimizing teaching performance and of the transformation of their role for their personal well-being and that of the educational community.
